Wooplaw Woods, Scottish Borders

Had a walk up at Wooplaw a few days ago and I’m sorry to report that there has been a little more windblow amongst the conifers. A great swathe has blown down, starting with Storm Arwen, and continuing with every storm since, including the recent Storm Isha.

The good news is that the timber harvesting equipment is on site and the current Wooplaw Wardens are pretty handy with chainsaws too. I’m quite sure that they will get the place redd up and the timber away before too long. Then the process of regeneration can begin! Meanwhile Tim Stead’s statue surveys the new light pouring in.
